Free Seminar for Caregivers Led by Psychology Professor

Sacramento Region, CA (MPG) – The East Lawn Mortuary will host a free seminar on March 7th intended as a discussion group for caregivers who work with terminally-ill patients.

Entitled, “The Sacred Space of Dying,” the workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include both a lunch and raffle in St. Francis Community Hall at 6700 Verner Avenue, Sacramento. Seating is limited and materials must be prepared and printed, so those planning to attend to RSVP by emailing Lisa West at lisaw@eastlawn.com or by calling her at (916) 732-2000.

The Sacred Space of Dying will be an exploration of how caregivers can care for themselves as well as their patients. The focus of the seminar will be the cultivation of a mindful presence, compassion, and an emotional/spiritual balance.

The workshop will be led by Julie Interrant, MA, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at Sacramento City College. Julie has more than 25 years’ experience working with people who are dying and their families and wrote the book, The Power of a Broken-Open Heart.
